Three times this blog post has crashed.
And so somewhere, something is telling me not to post it. Not like it was a particularly scalding topic or anything.
I was simply going to compare the justified ousters throughout the week — first Kansans booted asshat Attorney General Phill Kline from office. (See, there is hope for the state!)
Secondly, another joker is out of a job.
Thirdly, the worst college football coach in history also is leaving the building.
Fourthly, presumably, another’s 15 minutes is over.
And even, maybe, possibly, soon, a whole ownership full of jokers will give way to a new regime.
Trust me, the post that entertwined all their fates was all really, really funny. Poignant, silly, amusing. It had it all. Honest. But apparently, it was too incendiary and satirical for this world. In fact, it also somehow revealed that NBC was rebuilding its Must-See Thursday around The Office and Scrubs. The return of Scrubs! As, uh, the sacrificial lamb to Grey’s McAtomy. Probably fitting.
However, apparently it’s not to be - first my computer crashed, and then I inadvertently hit some mystical Windows hotkeys that mysteriously closed out my blog window. Where is that savvy computer guy when you need him?
Regardless, MFG may be more than a little swamped in the upcoming days. We’re en route to Colorado for the weekend to visit the official brother of Mister Faded Glory. Afterward, we return to central Kansas and prepare for the mother of all Wichita concerts.
Finally, Thanksgiving is coming up and we’ll be running around, with our heads cut off, trying to prepare for the trip to MFG’s homeland. So I’m not promising a layoff from blogging — but if it happens, you’ve been warned.
You might remember the last time we took a hiatus — it was to go on vacation and finish a novel. (Not reading one, silly. Writing it.) Just to update you — the vacation was too short, and the novel’s done, and we’re shopping for an agent while polishing the draft. If I might interject, and toot my own horn –it’s actually kind of not terrible. Maybe you’ll get to read it someday.
Anyway, big weekend. So we’re off. And things really aren’t so bad, are they? Losers out of jobs, big personal projects moving into their second stage, and the world with a chance to become a little bit better of a place. Well, more of a chance than it had Monday. That’s really all we can ask for, right?
